Lately I have been telling my self to slow down a little bit
and remember the things I used to enjoy. We are blessed with a baby girl and
she made me a mom for the second time. My son, who is five, loves his baby
sister and she is a darling to be around. Every one knows that things are not
the same with a new born in the house. Though babies are cute they are very
demanding and you have to keep up with many things that you have to deal with
in a day. With sleepless nights, work in the morning and school projects of my
son and errands in between (which husband used to help with, who is traveling)
I have been juggling with lot more things then I used to. But between those
rough schedules, I try to make my “Me Time”.
Having time for yourself is not
something that someone can give you .YOU have to make that time for yourself. The
best time for me (before the baby girl was born) was early in the mornings,
when every one is still in the bed , I’m all awake listening to my favorite
music , brewing my all time favorite coffee and sitting on the steps of my porch
waiting for the sun to pop up . With the sun, all the birds squeaked and squawked
and flocked together. Sitting on my porch watching the birds and my flowers and
the silence was an ultimate bliss. When I’m in that moment , I’m calm
,composed, I do not worry , I do not think , I have no desire, I have nothing
to accomplish, I’m just in that moment as a living entity. They say money makes
many things, but i cannot buy this bliss at any store, I can only experience it
and feel the pleasure of it. It will be a while for me to get back to this kind
of routine, when my baby grows up into a beautiful girl, I will have more time
for myself.
But even with the busy schedule I still found a way to have
time for myself and that is in my car while driving to work. That's the only
time I get for myself and I enjoy the most in the 20 mints drive to my work.
The fall colors are lovely and each tree stood on the sides of the road with
elegance showing off its colors. When the wind blows all the trees shower their
dried golden yellow and red leaves on the windshield of my car, making me feel
that they are welcoming me into that day. The gold’s, blues and grays of the
sky and red’s, green’s and yellow’s of the tress are picture perfect. Just these moments are a blessing to me, and I feel so blessed to have
eyes which can admire all the colors. For me nature gives me the calm and composure
that I need in a day. And this is one of the simple nothings of my day.
